High pressure remains the dominant weather feature in the Baltimore area, with continued clear skies and cool temperatures. Thursday morning will start out chilly with lows near 40 degrees.
Temperatures will be near-normal by Thursday afternoon, with highs in the upper 60s. The full sunshine will feel nice, but at times, you may notice a cool breeze. The wind will continue from the north around 10 mph with occasional gusts to 25 mph.
A strong area of low pressure continues to spin far offshore Maryland. The National Hurricane Center named it “Subtropical Josephine” after it developed enough to have tropical characteristics.
Josephine will remain subtropical, but it will still strengthen to hurricane-force on Thursday. Even though the low will continue to move away from Maryland, it is still generating large waves at the beach.
Minor tidal flooding is also possible along parts of the Chesapeake Bay and Delmarva beaches through Friday.
