CIMARRON HILLS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Cimarron Hills Fire Protection District (CHFPD) has opened its new building and headquarters, which they say will help improve service and response times.
The new facility will be Station 2 and Headquarters, and is located at 1015 Valley Street. Their other location is at 1885 Peterson Road, and is now Station 1.
CHFPD says the new station will help with services and faster response times to the southern parts of the district. They say that area in particular has seen increased growth with new apartments, commercial areas and traffic.
CHFPD says Station 2 will mostly serve the district, but also act as mutual aid for surrounding departments as needed. According to officials, the new station will provide mutual aid faster than deploying only from Station 1.
CHFPD says the new station will also be the Cimarron Hills Fire Administration and Headquarters, which will be the new home for the Office of the Fire Chief, Division Chief of Operations, EMS Supervisor and other administrative staff.
The district is selling its old HQ office at 1835 Tuskegee Place soon, CHFPD says.
